30 Days of Submission #4

Written By: gracie - Aug• 25•11

As ever, these prompts are from the wonderful and talented girl at Defer and Submit.

Do you switch into a dominant role at any time? If you are in a domestic discipline relationship, are there things that you maintain control over? Are you a “switch” in BDSM terms? If not, have you ever thought about it or given thought to why it’s not for you? There are a lot of questions in this one, so I’m going to break it down.

1. Do you switch into a dominant role at any time?

Not sexually, unless playful bratting counts.  I admit to having some curiosity about what it would be like, but I think overall I wouldn’t fare well, and my Sir is not submissive in any way, so it’s not really an issue.  That being said, we both have bad days sometimes, and when his pain sets in I’ve recently started adopting a “take charge” attitude.  I’m not sure if that counts, since I’m actually doing it as a service to him.

2. If you are in a domestic discipline relationship, are there things that you maintain control over?

Our power exchange on average is 51%/49%, weighted in my Sir’s favor.  I have lots of freedom, but I don’t know that there’s anything important that is 100% in my control.  We usually check with one another on most things, really, but he has that deciding 1%.

3. Are you a “switch” in BDSM terms?

It’s theoretically possible, but highly unlikely.  We don’t play with others, and submission just feels right to me.

4. If not, have you ever thought about it or given thought to why it’s not for you?

It just doesn’t feel natural. My primary thought is that I like things to be consistent, and I would get grouchy with the constant need to adapt my role.  The main reason, of course, is that it’s not compatible with my marriage.
